Concrete Section 6.5

6.5.004

Released: 2022-10-28

  • New: It is now possible to use Swedish national annex EKS 12, BFS 2022-4. (Case 122083)
  • Fix: The "Distribution coefficient" that was shown in the end of the SLS loadcombinations has been removed since deformationsa are not calculated by the program. (Case 121196)
  • Fix: Message of undefined stirrups was shown in Design. Now the program will design the stirrups instead of complaining! (Case 122725)

6.5.003

Released: 2022-05-24

  • Fix: A message informing that defined reinforcement where less than minimum requirements according to the code was only shown once and was not displayed when re-calculating which is corrected (Case 120171).
  • Fix: In Analysis mode, for some cases the shear reinforcement capacity was calculated for only one cut if the user did not activate the button "Stirrups". No result for shear reinforcement will from now on be calculated if the user does not activate this button  and change or accept default values (case 120199).

6.5.002

Released: 2022-03-10

  • Fix: An error message concerning insufficient shear capacity without shear reinforcement was wrong and has been changed (case 107804).
  • Fix: Compressed reinforcement was in some cases wrongly disabled until entering Calculation settings resulting in a to low capacity which is corrected (case 117191).
  • Fix: Insufficient capacity was not shown with the correct utilization value but with 1.0 which is corrected (case 117413).
  • Fix: A sign problem led to that only 1 cut was used in the shear capacity calculation and also displayed in the shear result although a stirrup always have 2 cuts which is corrected (case 118007).

Released: 2021-11-04

  • Fix: In Analysis mode for ULS load cases the effective depth d was not displayed in the result which is corrected (case 3561).
  • Fix: The "Manage Reinforcement" Window showed incorrect data in first column (Case 26306).
  • Fix: Made sure circular columns only does cover check in regards to one of the given cover values (top & bottom) (Case 35523).
  • New: It is now possible to define and calculate shear reinforcement also for slabs (case 51519).
  • Fix: When minimum reinforcement is decisive this is clarified by increased information in the result table (case 65614).
  • Fix: A numeric problem resulted in a wrong stress calculation and a unrealistic graphical stress figure in some very rare cases (case 105722).
  • Fix: The result value Req min stirrup area was only considering EC2 9.2.2 (9.5N) but is from now on also considering (9.6N). The required stirrup value  however considered both demands (case 107808).
  • Fix: Added possibility for snapping to intersection of guidelines in the Manage Reinforcement window (Case 108763).
  • Fix: The manual has been updated (case 111434).

  • Fix: Reduced the number of requested licenses from Concrete Section (Case 100275).
  • Fix: The "Manage Reinforcement" Window showed incorrect data in first column (Case 101052)

Concrete Section 6.4

6.4.015

Released: 2020-09-07

  • Fix: For pure tension the tension reinforcement area used in the check with regard to EC2 7.3.2 was zero which is corrected  (case 76585).
  • Fix: When calculating the Sr,max value involved in the crack width formula then in some rare cases parts of the reinforcement on the compression side was added to the tension reinforcement area resulting in a to low Sr,max value which is corrected (case 81099).
  • Fix: The crack distance Sr,max was wrongly calculated for an example due to an error in the non-uniformly tensional stress distribution, which is corrected (case 92431).

Released: 2019-01-22

  • Fix: Entering creep values cut off input after one digit, making it hard to enter decimal values (Case 67688).
  • Fix: The program underestimated, in some cases, the maximum crack spacing Sr,max which is corrected (case 71938).
  • Fix: Shrinkage values for SLS long time load cases  where not possible to define which has been corrected (case 74088).

6.4.013

Released: 2018-07-04

  • Fix: Calculation of axial capacity could sometimes abort the entire calculation prematurely (Case 67350).

6.4.012

Released: 2018-07-03

  • Fix: The numerical result did not display the correct value when minimum reinforcement for D-sections where decisive  which is corrected (case 38125).
  • Fix: The minimum reinforcement calculation for D-sections did not consider the maxium cc value according to EC2 9.3.1.1 (3) which is corrected (case 43161).
  • Fix: Added bar spacing consideration to calculation of crack spacing according to 7.3.4 (3) (Case 58797).

6.4.011

Released: 2017-08-23

  • Fix: When calculating min. reinforcement according to EC2 7.3.2 the program used a more rigorous calculation that in some cases showed larger area than formula (7.1). According to 7.2 (2)  such a calculation could be used if it showed lesser area than (7.1). The program therefore from now on shows the lesser area from these two methods (Case 51919).
  • Fix: The Stress and Strain diagrams in Concrete Section did not take effective creep into consideration correctly for ULS  load cases resulting in to large stresses and strains. (Case 53256).

6.4.010

Released: 2017-06-27

  • Fix: Incorrect reinforcement was gathered as 'tensile reinforcement' for the 'min. req. bar area in crackzone' check (Case 50435).
  • Fix: For crack control in the Serviceability Limit state according to EC2 7.3.2 minimum reinforcement where in some cases calculated as zero and the tensile reinforcement wrongly displayed from the compression zone which is corrected (Case 51397).

Released: 2017-03-28

  • Fix: Added a warning when torsion and/or biaxial shear calculation is carried out without longitudinal reinforcement (Case 49095).
  • Fix: Renamed reinforcement material B500B to K500C-T for Swedish national annex (Case 49267).

6.4.008

Released: 2017-03-14

  • Fix: Reworked the way user defined materials are used and shown in the material tab (Case 39212).
  • Fix: Adjusted an error in the layer dialog when using user-defined materials (Case 39213).
  • Fix: Clarified why reinforcement material must be changed in the 'Reinforcement input' tab when in Control mode, rather than in the Material tab as is done in Design mode (Case 39843).
  • Fix: The changed minimum reinforcement area for slabs according to the new Swedish annex EKS 10 has been implemented for section type Solid slab.(case 43163).
  • Fix: It is from now on possible to choose the concrete tensile strength as fctm or fctm,fl. For the Swedish annex also a third option is available (case 43164).
  • Fix: The check for min reinforcement in crack zone for SLS combinations was in some cases made also with regard to compression reinforcement. Only tension reinforcement should be considered which is corrected (case 43168).
  • Fix: For Danish national annex, each load combination now has the option 'Combination of actions'. Also, Consequences class can be set in the Calculation settings. With these settings defined partial, coefficient gamma_0 is taken into consideration when calculating design material values (Case 34119).

6.4.007

Released: 2015-12-22

  • Fix: Half the reinforcement was incorrectly removed for circular sections when loadcases are linked in Concrete Section which is corrected.(Case 34751).
  • Fix: Under certain circumstances different amount of required shear reinforcement was calculated in y- and z-direction despite section symmetry which has been corrected. (Case 35234).

6.4.006

Released: 2015-10-28

  • Fix: A reference to '2nd order moment calculation' in the result has been removed as no such calculation is made in this program (Case 34236).
  • Fix: Input for ´Monolithic construction´ and ´Sudden release´have been removed as these options does not affect the calculation in this program (Case 34239).
  • Fix: An error causing the crack stress limit to be zero for all annexes but the Swedish has been corrected (Case 34297).
  • Fix: The input for ´Uneven shrinkage´has been removed as this option is not used in this program (Case 34641).

6.4.005

Released: 2015-06-26

  • Updated license handling (added FlexNet support).
  • Fix: The torsion capacity was displayed with the wrong description and the utilization was not shown correctly which is corrected (Case 26302).
  • Fix: In the case of combined torsion and shear but without any bending moment no consideration was taken to the shear which is corrected (Case 27157).
  • Fix: No torsional capacity is calculated if not shear calculation with shear reinforcement according to EC2 6.2.3 is chosen. A warning is now displayed in this case (Case 27333).
  • Fix: When calculating torsional capacity according to EC2 6.3.2 the effective wall thickness tef must not be taken as less than twice the distance between edge and center of the reinforcement. A limit that now is implemented (Case 27963).

  • Fix: The crack criterion for the Serviceability Limit State is changed. Crack stress changed  from fctm to fctk/ksi (Case 26291).

  • Fixed: Reinforcement placement during design with loadcases including biaxial shear forces did not take minimum distance between bars into account properly. Also a warning was missing making the user aware of the inclined compression stress in the web (EN1992-1-1 Annex F(3)) (Case 20171).

  • The shear capacity where somewhat overestimated in some cases due to a wrong calculation of the neutral axis.
  • A warning have been added when the longitudinal reinforcement falls below the limit for minimum reinforcement with regard to torsion and thereby no torsion capacity is calculated.
  • In some the shear capacity was not displayed with red text although the capacity was inadequate which has been corrected.

  • Fixed an issue with the database files not being copied when changing target folder for the section and material databases.

  • A new option which makes it possible to force the program to calculate crack widths although the stress is less than the crack stress has been implemented to consider the situation that the section is already cracked in advance.
  • The crack width was overestimated for user defined reinforcement as the program wrongly assumed the reinforcement as plain although the option ribbed was chosen which is corrected.
  • Material data, creep and shrinkage values where not displayed in the printout which is corrected.

  • For a result the utilization did not sum up correctly due to a wrong roundup in the presentation which is corrected.
  • The material design values was not correct presented in the printout for accidental loads although the result was correct.

  • Updated the installation file to accomodate the new StruSoft Installer.
  • t was not possible to delete defined reinforcement by the Delete key only by defining a zero value which is fixed.

  • For un-cracked sections the shear capacity according to BBK:s traditional method could be calculated as shear capacity due to web-shear failure BBK04 3.7.3.4 for compressed and prestressed members. This formula is in accordance with EC2 from now on only used for prestressed members.
  • A warning is displayed if unrealistic values for the creep- or shrinkage factor is defined.
  • Updated the way in which user specific settings and data is stored.

  • New version of the license system (version 3.0.18).
  • Updates made to the installtion script pertaining to silent install.
  • Fixed a bug in the calculation of the crack moment.
  • Fixed two bugs in the calcualtion of the torsion moment capacity.

6.3.001

  • The tension capacity for the concrete is now set to fctm. It was on the safe side earlier set to 0.7*fctm but after investigations fctm should be the correct value.
  • An error resulted in totally different torsion capacities for a symmetrical section when changning sign on the moment which is corrected.
  • An error in the last version of the program resulted in zero max torsion capacity which is corrected.
